World Malaria Day 2026 Observed at N.E.T Pharmacy College
The Department of Pharmacy Practice at N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an awareness program on the occasion of World Malaria Day (25th April 2026).
The event was held at Lecture Hall–3 at 12:00 PM, in alignment with this year’s theme:
“Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.”
The session was delivered by Dr. Syed Mohammed, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, who provided an insightful overview of Malaria, a vector-borne parasitic disease transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes.
Key Highlights:
Overview of malaria transmission, lifecycle, and global burden
Current treatment strategies including ACT and emerging therapies
Role of vaccines and recent technological advancements
Challenges such as drug resistance and climate change, along with India’s progress toward elimination
The session emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, vector control, and community participation in malaria prevention.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Divyashree and witnessed active participation from students and faculty members.
The session concluded with the message that while effective tools to combat malaria are available, their successful implementation remains crucial for achieving elimination.
