World Blood Donor Day 2026 Observed at N.E.T. Pharmacy College
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur, observed World Blood Donor Day 2026 by organizing a guest lecture on 24th June 2026 to promote awareness about voluntary blood donation and its vital role in saving lives.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ashraf Ahmed Zubair, Professor, Department of Pathology, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur.
During his insightful lecture, Dr. Zubair emphasized the importance of voluntary and regular blood donation in ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply. He explained various aspects of blood donation, including blood groups, donor eligibility, blood collection, screening, storage, transfusion practices, and the significance of blood banks in healthcare. He also addressed common myths associated with blood donation and encouraged students to become responsible voluntary blood donors.
The programme was graced by Mr. Binu K. M., Associate Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, and Dr. Chandramouli, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Their presence added value and encouraged active participation among the students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event. The observance reinforced the message that “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.”
