WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur, organized an awareness programme on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28th May 2026 at Lecture Hall–2 under the theme “Together for a Period Friendly World.”
The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding menstrual health, menstrual hygiene practices, and the importance of breaking myths, taboos, and stigma associated with menstruation.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students, followed by an introduction highlighting the significance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day and the need to promote awareness, understanding, and open discussion about menstrual health.
The session was graced by Mrs. I. Aparna Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur, who served as the resource person for the programme. The event was coordinated by Dr. Divyashree, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur.
During the session, Mrs. Aparna Lakshmi delivered an informative and interactive talk on various aspects of menstrual health and hygiene. She emphasized the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene, discussed healthy menstrual practices, explained the appropriate use of menstrual hygiene products, and addressed common misconceptions and myths related to menstruation. She also stressed the importance of creating a supportive and stigma-free environment to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of women and girls.
The session was highly engaging and provided valuable knowledge to the students, encouraging them to adopt healthy hygiene practices and contribute towards building a more informed and period-friendly society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person, faculty members, staff, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the programme a success.
The awareness programme was well appreciated by the students and successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting menstrual health awareness, healthy hygiene practices, and open conversations on menstrual well-being.
