World Environment Day 2026 at N.E.T Pharmacy College
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, organized a World Environment Day 2026 awareness program on 5th June 2026 at Lecture Hall-3 under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The program aimed to create awareness among students regarding environmental conservation, sustainable practices, and the collective responsibility of protecting natural resources for future generations.
The program commenced with a symbolic plant-watering ceremony, signifying the importance of nurturing and preserving nature. As a mark of respect and appreciation, saplings were presented to the dignitaries.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology; Mr. Binu K.M., Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice; and the guest speaker, Mr. C. Muralikrishna Goud, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur.
The event was anchored by Mr. Aditya, Pharm D Intern, who welcomed the gathering comprising faculty members, Pharm D students, interns, and participants. He highlighted the significance of World Environment Day and the need for collective action to address environmental challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda appreciated the Department of Pharmacy Practice for its continuous efforts in organizing health and awareness programs throughout the academic year. He emphasized the importance of observing environmental days and encouraged students to actively participate in activities that promote environmental sustainability and public awareness.
The keynote session was delivered by Mr. C. Muralikrishna Goud through an informative PowerPoint presentation. He discussed various forms of environmental pollution, including air, water, soil, and plastic pollution, and explained their impact on human health and ecological balance. He highlighted practical measures to reduce pollution and emphasized the role of individuals in adopting eco-friendly practices.
During the session, he also discussed the role of healthcare professionals and pharmacy practitioners in environmental protection. He explained how proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste, rational use of medicines, reduction of plastic usage, and community awareness initiatives can contribute significantly to environmental sustainability. The session encouraged students to recognize their responsibility as future healthcare professionals in promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
Following the expert lecture, a certificate and memento were presented to Mr. C. Muralikrishna Goud by Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda and Mr. Binu K.M. in appreciation of his valuable contribution to the program.
As part of the celebration, saplings were distributed to Pharm D interns by the dignitaries along with Dr. Syed Mohammed, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice. The activity aimed to encourage students to actively participate in tree plantation and environmental conservation efforts.
The program also featured an awareness video presentation on World Environment Day by Pharm D interns, highlighting current environmental challenges, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable living practices. The video effectively reinforced the messages shared during the guest lecture.
A significant highlight of the event was the Environmental Pledge, during which all participants collectively pledged to protect the environment, reduce waste generation, conserve natural resources, and contribute towards a sustainable future.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, guest speaker, management, faculty members, organizing team, and participants for their valuable contributions and enthusiastic participation.
The event witnessed active participation from Pharm D students and interns and successfully promoted environmental awareness, sustainability, and social responsibility among future healthcare professionals.
