Educational Visit to PRFQA Laboratory | University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur, organized an educational visit to the Pesticide Residue and Food Quality Analysis (PRFQA) Laboratory at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur on 09-05-2026 for Pharm D (3rd Year) and B.Pharm (7th Semester) students.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Chandramouli, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Dr. Sunil Kumar B., Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Students had the opportunity to explore the NABL-accredited PRFQA Laboratory, which is among the premier laboratories in India for pesticide residue and food quality analysis. Staff provided an insightful introduction to the sophisticated analytical instruments and their applications.
The students gained practical exposure to advanced instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV, IR, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, UHPLC, ICP-MS/MS, RT-PCR, and other modern analytical techniques used for the detection of pesticide residues, heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbial contamination, and food quality assessment.
The visit also included exposure to the pesticide formulation testing laboratory, where students learned about quality monitoring of pesticides available in the market.
The educational visit provided valuable practical knowledge, enhanced understanding of analytical techniques, and helped students bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial applications. Overall, the visit was highly informative, interactive, and memorable for all participants.
