Guest Lecture on “Role of Guru Shishya Parampara” under the Lecture Series on Indian Knowledge System at N.E.T. Pharmacy College
A guest lecture under the “Lecture Series on Indian Knowledge System” on the topic “Role of Guru Shishya Parampara” was organized by the IQAC, N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Raichur on 13th May 2026 at the AV Room, Central Library. The session was delivered by Sri S. V. Satyanarayana from Vedanta Institute, Visakhapatnam. The programme aimed to highlight the significance of the traditional Indian Guru-Shishya relationship and its relevance in modern education and value-based learning.
The event was graced by President Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal of N.E.T. Pharmacy College, Heads of various departments, teaching faculty, and students. The programme commenced with anchoring by Mr. Praveen Kumar, who emphasized the role of the Guru as a guiding force and torchbearer of wisdom. The welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Kanchana. Dr. Chandramouli felicitated the guest speaker with a bouquet, while Dr. A. Rajesh Pavan welcomed the Principal with a bouquet.
Dr. H. Doddayya delivered the opening remarks and highlighted the importance of preserving Indian knowledge traditions in present-day education. Dr. A. Rajesh Pavan formally introduced the resource person to the audience.
During the lecture, Sri S. V. Satyanarayana explained the importance of Guru Shishya Parampara as the foundation of the Indian Knowledge System. He described the Guru not only as a teacher but also as a mentor who shapes the character, discipline, and values of students. The session focused on the spiritual, intellectual, and moral bond between Guru and disciple and emphasized the importance of respect, dedication, and lifelong learning.
The session was highly informative and inspired students to understand the cultural and educational values embedded in Indian traditions.
