Hospital Visit for D. Pharm 1st Year Students
N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur
On September 3rd and 4th, 2025, the D. Pharm 1st year students of N.E.T Pharmacy College were taken in two batches to the 60-Bed Maternity and Child Hospital, Raichur, accompanied by Dr. Aishwarya A.
During the visit, students were exposed to the practical aspects of hospital pharmacy and observed the process of drug dispensing in a systematic and organized manner. They visited the drug pantry, where they learned the importance of alphabetical arrangement of medicines to ensure easy accessibility and minimize dispensing errors.
The students were introduced to a wide range of basic drugs, their therapeutic uses, and handling methods, which helped them strengthen their foundational knowledge. Special emphasis was placed on vaccine storage practices, where students gained insights into maintaining the cold chain system and the application of new technologies that safeguard vaccine safety, stability, and efficacy.
This hospital visit provided invaluable first-hand exposure, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. It also offered students an early understanding of the pharmacist’s professional role in ensuring safe medication use and patient care.
