Guest Lecture “Stepping into the Profession: Opportunities and Challenges in the Pharma World.”
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur organized a guest lecture on 27th September 2025 at 11:00 AM in the AV Room.
The program began with a warm welcome to the guest speaker followed by the presentation of a bouquet to Mr. Alas Ja Jiju, Director – Clinical Trials, Arco Labs, Bengaluru, by Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal, N.E.T Pharmacy College.
Following this, Dr. Chandramouli, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, introduced the chief guest and resource person. In his introduction, he highlighted the 18+ years of rich professional experience of Mr. Alas Ja Jiju in:
– Clinical Trials (Bio-equivalence / Bio-availability / Phase 1 & Phase 3 studies)
– Non-Clinical Studies (Animal studies), In Vitro studies (Bio-waiver and BCS establishment), and Clinical Operations
– Vendor Audit, Vendor Qualification, and Due Diligence
– Regulatory Audit Support and Regulatory Meetings – Clinical Representation, DCGI Filing, and Clearance
– New Product Evaluation and Proposal
– IND, NDA, ANDA, DCP, and other regulatory submissions
– Leading and Managing Medical Affairs Team
– Budget and Finance Management
In his insightful lecture, Mr. Alas Ja Jiju focused on the various opportunities available in Clinical Trials, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance, along with the challenges graduates encounter after completing their studies.
He strongly motivated students to:
– Pursue certificate courses in their specific areas of interest.
– Develop professional skills and knowledge in their chosen department.
– Be consistent and committed in their job roles to build successful careers.
The session was made lively and engaging by sharing numerous real-life examples and professional scenarios, which helped students clearly understand the expectations of the pharmaceutical industry.
The lecture was attended by Pharm D Interns, Pharm D V Year, Pharm D IV Year, and B Pharm VIII Semester students, all of whom benefitted greatly from the career-oriented insights.
The program concluded with presidential remarks by Principal Dr. H. Doddayya, who appreciated the speaker for his valuable contribution. A Certificate of Appreciation was then presented to Mr. Alas Ja Jiju as a token of gratitude from the institution.
The lecture proved to be highly informative, motivational, and career-guiding, inspiring students to prepare themselves with the right set of skills and knowledge to excel in the pharmaceutical profession.
