CPR Awareness Week 2025: A Step Toward Saving Lives
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T Pharmacy College, organized CPR Awareness Week 2025 from 13th to 17th October 2025 at the AV Room, Central Library, under the theme “Minute With CPR = High Chances of Survival.”
The objective of this initiative was to educate students on the importance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and equip them with essential life-saving techniques that can make a real difference during emergencies.
Inaugural Session and Dignitaries
The program began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries on the dais —
Dr. Sunil Kumar, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry;
Mr. Binu K. M., Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice; and
Dr. Divya Sree, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice and the speaker of the event.
The event was anchored by Ms. Michelle, who efficiently guided the proceedings throughout the session.
Motivational Talk and Oath Ceremony
Mr. Binu K. M. addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of CPR knowledge in healthcare education. He encouraged students to gain hands-on experience and develop confidence in emergency response.
Following his address, Mr. Aniket administered the CPR Oath, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to saving lives through prompt action and awareness.
Insightful Session and Live Demonstration
Dr. Divya Sree conducted an insightful and interactive session, explaining when, how, and under what conditions CPR should be performed. Her talk focused on recognizing emergencies, performing CPR on adults, children, and infants, and understanding the role of teamwork in resuscitation.
Pharm D interns Farhan and Toufiq demonstrated CPR techniques on a mannequin, showing the correct hand position, compression depth, and rhythm. Their live demonstration helped students gain practical understanding and confidence in performing CPR.
Student Presentations and Discussions
The awareness week also included presentations on CPR-related case studies, journal reviews, and seminars conducted by Pharm D interns. These sessions helped enhance the participants’ academic understanding and encouraged evidence-based practice in emergency care.
Impact and Conclusion
The CPR Awareness Week 2025 concluded successfully, leaving participants empowered with vital life-saving knowledge. The event highlighted the role of pharmacy professionals in emergency healthcare and encouraged every student to be prepared to act when every second counts.
