The Department of Pharmacy, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, organized an insightful guest lecture titled “The Power of Knowledge: Shaping the Future of Pharmacy” on 17th November 2025 at the AV Room, Central Library. The session was delivered by Dr. Vishwanath Swamy, Professor & Principal, KLE’s College of Pharmacy, Hubballi. The programme began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by the welcome address by Mr. Manjunath C.J, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology.
Dr. Divyashree, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, introduced the resource person, after which Dr. Vishwanath Swamy delivered an engaging and impactful talk. He emphasized the transformative power of knowledge in pharmacy, highlighting how a strong understanding of drugs and therapeutics forms the foundation of responsible pharmacy practice. The speaker stressed the application of pharmacological concepts in real-world scenarios to ensure better patient outcomes. He also underscored the importance of cost-effective therapy, the prevention and monitoring of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and the value of evidence-based decision-making.
The session included practical examples of widely used drugs and their ADR profiles, helping students connect academic learning with clinical relevance. The lecture concluded with a message encouraging students to embrace lifelong learning, reminding them that knowledgeable pharmacists are vital assets to the healthcare system. A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the resource person, followed by vote of thanks by Mrs. I Aparna laxmi, Assistant Professor Department of pharmacology and the rendition of the National Anthem.
