Day-2 Activities of the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week

The Department of Pharmacy Practice and ADR Monitoring Centre, N.E.T Pharmacy College, organized Day-2 activities of the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week on 18th September 2025.
The day began with a Guest Lecture on the “Role of Pharmacist in ADR Monitoring” by Dr. Geetha Jayaprakash, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Acharya B.M. Reddy College of Pharmacy, Bangalore. Mr. Binu K.M., Associate Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, introduced the chief guest to the audience.
Dr. Geetha delivered an informative and interactive lecture highlighting the crucial role of pharmacists in Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) monitoring, emphasizing the integration of Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance and its growing significance in patient safety. The session provided valuable insights for both students and faculty members.
On this occasion, Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal, N.E.T Pharmacy College, presented a certificate of appreciation to the resource person as a token of gratitude. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks, appreciating the guest speaker and participants for their active involvement.
Following the lecture, an Essay Writing Competition was conducted on the topic “Role of Health Care Professionals in Patient Safety.” The competition was coordinated by Dr. Syed Mohammed and Dr. Naga Deepti, Lecturers, Department of Pharmacy Practice. Students from different years actively participated, showcasing their knowledge, awareness, and creative perspectives on the importance of healthcare professionals in ensuring patient safety.
The Day-2 events were highly engaging and contributed significantly to creating awareness about pharmacovigilance and the responsibilities of healthcare professionals in safeguarding public health.
