As a part of curriculum, first year D.Pharm students(33 students) have visited to medicinal garden of “Poornima Ayurdeic Medical College and Research Centre, Raichur” on 11/09/2025. The medicinal garden had around 134 species of plants which are having their selective Pharmacognostic features. The faculty of host institution Dr .E.Anup, Associate professor& Head Department of Dravya Guna, Poornima Ayurdeic Medical College and Research Centre, Raichur has guided the students in identifying plants and understanding their therapeutic applications. Field visit was started from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. During this period, Mr.Narasimhachar Joshi, Associate professor & Head, Department of Pharmacognosy, N.E.T Pharmacy College and also NSS programming officer along with lecturers Ms. K Suma and Ms. Kanchana were present to have knowledge about importance of medicinal plants in traditional modern medicine. Students were introduced to important species such as Punnaga, Bilva,Amla,Raktachanadana,Harichandana,Sarpagandha (Ruawolfia), Quassia, Ketaki,Haritaki,Champaka,Bakula,Arjuna&Ashoka etc.. along with their medicinal values. Each plant was explained in detail with respect to its botanical names,morphological features, pharmacological values with respect to medicinal uses. It has provided valuable insights into the importance of medicinal plants in drug discovery. Overall, the field visit was successful, informative and memorable one.
