The Department of Pharmaceutics, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, organized an insightful Guest Lecture on “Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)” on 9th October 2025 at Dr. S. R. Hegde Hall. The programme commenced at 10:00 a.m. in the esteemed presence of distinguished guests, faculty members, and students. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cGMP standards that form the cornerstone of quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry.
The inaugural session began with the welcoming of dignitaries onto the dais. The event was presided over by Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal, N.E.T Pharmacy College. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust, while Mr. Umesh Setty, Senior Vice President in Consulting Role, HCG Global Life Sciences, Bengaluru, graced the occasion as the Distinguished Guest. The Guests of Honour included Prof. C. Suresh Babu, Director (Administration), and Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Director (IP&S&A), Navodaya Education Trust. The programme was convened by Dr. Chandramouli, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
The event commenced with a soulful Invocation Song rendered by Dr. Divyashree, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, followed by a warm Welcome Address by Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology. The Lamp Lighting Ceremony by the dignitaries symbolized the enlightenment that education brings. Mr. Manjunath C. J., Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, introduced the guests with a note of appreciation for their contributions to the academic and industrial fields.
In his Address, the Chief Guest, Dr. T. Srinivas, emphasized the importance of maintaining quality and ethical standards in pharmaceutical education and practice. The Distinguished Guest, Mr. Umesh Setty, delivered an inspiring talk on the significance of Good Manufacturing Practices in ensuring product safety and global compliance.
Following the formal proceedings, Dr. H. Doddayya delivered the Presidential Remarks, highlighting the institution’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The dignitaries were then felicitated in recognition of their valuable contributions. Dr. Pradnya B. Patil expressed gratitude through a thoughtful Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the presence and support of all attendees.
After the formal inauguration, the session continued with a High Tea and the much-awaited Guest Lecture by Mr. Umesh Setty on the topic “3rd National Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Day.” In his comprehensive presentation, the resource person elaborated on various aspects of GMP and cGMP, their evolution, regulatory significance, and implementation challenges in pharmaceutical industries. Through real-time case scenarios and practical examples, he provided students with valuable insights into modern quality assurance systems, global compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Students from Pharm.D, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, and M.Pharm actively participated in the event, gaining an in-depth understanding of manufacturing quality systems and their role in ensuring patient safety. The session concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to the resource person, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of an enriching academic event.
The Guest Lecture proved to be a highly informative and interactive learning experience, reinforcing N.E.T Pharmacy College’s commitment to fostering professional competence and industry-oriented education among its students.
